The H1N1 vaccine (injectable) will be distributed to established patients of the practice on a first-come, first-served basis. Priority will be limited to the following five target groups until vaccine availability increases.
- Pregnant women
- Persons who live with or provide care for infants less than 6 months of age (parents, siblings and daycare providers, etc.)
- Healthcare and emergency medical services personnel
- Persons 6 months through 24 years of age
- Persons 25-64 years of age who have medical conditions* that put them at higher risk for influenza-related complications
*Chronic medical conditions that confer a higher risk for influenza-related compliations include chronic pulmonary (including asthma), cardiovascular (except hypertension), renal, hepatic, congnitive, neurologic/neuromuscular, hematologic, or metabolid disorders (including diabetes mellitus) or immunosuppression (including immunosuppression caused by medications or by human immunodeficiency virus).
